Common syntactic errors and issues
when typing answers in WebAssign (WA)
- Unit coordinate vectors must be denoted by boldface i, j, k rather than by
regular or italic letters.
- Conversely, WA denotes vectors using boldface letters, like a, b, c, u, v, etc., rather than using the vector "arrow" above a single letter denoting a vector.
- WA is case-sensitive; so "c" is not the same as "C",
etc.
- When
WA does not specify the form of an answer between exact and decimal,
always use the exact one. E.g., the length of a vector <7,1,1>
should be entered as Sqrt[51] (with the math symbol for
Sqrt, of course), and NOT as 7.14.
