Announcement of various assignments
Midterm exams and the Final exam
You will receive an email from me at least a week before the exam will be given.
The dates of midterms are difficult to predict due to the unusual schedule;
however, in terms of covered materials, they will be given after the following sections are covered:
- Midterm 1 - after Sec. 3.1;
- Midterm 2 - after Sec. 3.7;
- Midterm 3 - after Sec. 4.5.
There will not be a Blackboard announcement for Midterms and the Final.
Regular quizzes
There will be no electronic announcements of any kind for Regular quizzes.
Moreover, I will not volunteer
the information about the timing and content of the quiz. I will reveal
this information after someone from class asks me during the official lecture time (i.e., not after the lecture or not in private or semi-private) when the next quiz will be and what it will be on.
This measure, however unpopular, is to encourage you to attend lectures and pay attention to what is said during them.
Projects
Their due dates and times are listed next to each Project on the
course webpage. I may send an email announcing the first one or two
Projects just to help you to get accustomed to them, but I will not be held responsible for needing to send such announcements.
You are welcome to ask me, in class or in private, when the project is
due. However, I ask you to please look up this information on the
course webpage first.
There will not be a Blackboard announcement for Projects.
Pre- and post-lecture quizzes
No later than the day before the quiz is available, I will email you about which pages of the posted notes the quiz will be on.
There will also be a Blackboar announcement when the quiz opens.
